First examination: Documentary examination(Closed Web examination)

Judging committee members examine with the abstract, proposal, and budget plan submitted by each entry team on the Web. The judging point is if the content of the project is well considered. You had better start to prepare the presentation for the second examination when you finish the submittion of the proposals.

We select about 20 teams in this examination.

Second examination: Presentation examination

Judging committee members see and esteem the presentations by teams which passed the first examination. The team which cannot come to the venue should give the presentation on video. In your presentation, to the judges, appeal the interest aspect, novelty, technical advance, artistic quality of your product, and so forth. Only the teams which have pass the second examination start the actual production, and we allocate the cost support depending on the examination result.

We select about 10 teams in this examination. If a team is selected with sevral project, it can withdraw the selection after the examination result anouncement. In such a case, the following team will move up. For the teams which are not selected, we publish only the name of products because of the protection of participants' ideas, and we don't keep the right to the products.

Third Examination: Preliminary Contest in Tokyo

Teams which passed the second examination give the exhibits of their actual products that let people experience them. The judgement is through the examination of academic experts and the vote of visitors. Each product is required not only academic and technical advantages but also an appeal to general visitors. Though, what to important is not only fun, but also novelty, skill, artistry. Remember that the general visitors to Miraikan have deep interest in the science-technology.

4 teams are selected for the final contest in Gifu in this examination. For the preliminary contest, see about-Preliminary contest.

Final Examination Final Contest in Gifu

4 teams which passed the preliminary contest in Tokyo and invited teams from the Laval Virtual collegiate contest in France give the interactive exhibits that let people experience their products. The judging committee mainly of academic experts examines them.
